Gas Pains
Tom grew up in Milwaukee, bartended in Wauwatosa in the '70s and moved here in 1984.
Commentary, observations and musings about the outdoors, life in general and maybe Tosa politics and personalities will be the order of the day. He savors a lively debate as much as terrific cooking.
A Mother's Day Surprise
It has been three and a half weeks since I spotted the house finch nest in my hanging basket.
Complete with five jelly bean sized eggs.
The Garden Chronicles
The B.A.G. is comfortably established.
Everything is either up and growing or has been transplanted. I've even had to mound my potato rows twice already.
A Mother's Day Surprise
As of Monday afternoon only two birds could be found in my hanging basket.
My presumption is their three brethren have already fledged. It is unlikely a predator could gain a foothold on the basket-full of asparagus fern. If it could it would have likely taken the entire brood.
The Trouble with Mice, Tourists and Pirates
It was recently that a coterie of deer camp, pheasant hunting and fishing buddies reconvened for some quality male-bonding time in the north woods.
There was a vision of walleye and perch on our minds.
Friday Morning Music
The gulf coast has been on my mind lately. Eric Lindell says to start your weekend with some funky white guy blues.
It's looking like nice weather for bicycling...
Buried Treasures
We have boxes and boxes of stuff that we have accumulated over the years.
Photos, memorable newspapers and magazines, souvenirs, political memorabilia, family records and correspondence.
Friday Morning Music
I dunno.
Can you get a collection of four more talented artists together for some acoustic and vocal artistry - along with a trip down memory lane?
If Only The Dead Could Talk
My regular readers know that one of my pastimes is bicycling around the countryside looking for cemeteries worthy of exploration.
There is a great deal to learn by respectfully visiting the final resting places of those who have gone before us.
Canada Day
Tomorrow is Canada Day.
For our neighbors to the north this is the equivalent of our Independence Day which we celebrate on Sunday, July 4th.
