Congrats to Tosa wrestlers, Central's Wandrey and other thoughts

A special congratulations goes out to two of my favorite people.

First of all, coach Kent Morin of the Wauwatosa West/East wrestling team. Tosa swept the Woodland Conference this year, winning both the regular-season dual meet title - something Pewaukee has done since 2006 when they came into the league - and the conference tournament on Saturday.

They had eight wrestlers in the finals and came home with five champs - Zach Miller, Ben Reagan, Max Nelson, Marcus Morrow and Kai Castaneda.

When Brookfield Central's girls basketball coach Dan Wandrey and his assistant Maurice Brown won their 200th game on Friday. Wandrey has a 200-134 record in 15 years with the Lancers. That includes five titles since 1972.

Dates to look for:

Tuesday, Feb. 12 - Brook Central vs. Sussex Hamilton. the boys play at BC with the GMC title on the line and the girls travel to Sussex. Chargers won first round.

Friday, Feb. 15 - New Berlin Eisenhower girls at Pius XI, another battle for first. Lady Popes won first round.

Friday, Feb. 15 - DSHA at BC, a huge week for the Lancers.

I can't wait until spring training begins.
I can't wait until this snow and cold disappears.
