Our family stopped exchanging gifts several years ago in favor of choosing a charity and making a large donation instead. Not only does it remove the stress of shopping for gifts people neither want nor need, but it puts our money to use for people who need it far more than we do.
the flannel pajamas my grandma and mother made for us every year. i wish she were still here to make them for her great-grandkids too.
The bikes our parents gave me and my brother. We couldn't wait to get outside and ride them, even if it was freezing.
The best Christmas present that I recieved was a hand drawn card from my son when he was 8 years old, stating that he was sorry for any bad things that he had done during the year. He is 21 now.
When we were first married and we did not have any money for gifts, I wrapped a box with beautiful paper & ribbon. In it I glued a picture of a man in a suit [out of a catalog] and wrote under it "I would love to buy you a suit but I have no loot" Love Me!! We can now afford gifts but we will always remember that christmas.
a big stuffed dog, and having my dad be alive
At 14 I recieved a 30-06. I was so amazed , to this day all other gifts pale in comparison . As for gifts I have given the reciepient would have to answer that. For those who dont know a 30-06 is a caliber of a rifle.
The gift of life, love, and faith that God gave us with the birth of His son Jesus. No other gift is more unselfish and needed. Merry CHRISTmas and "God Bless Us, everyone!"
The best present we received came actually 4 days after Christmas. Our first child, a baby girl arrived.
A flute my older brother gave me when I was 11, cuz I came from a big family, and my parents couldn't afford it.

The best holiday gift I ever got was eating the wonderful Christmas dinners my grandmother made!
