Disagree with where your team is in our Roundball Rankings? Or did we peg it correctly? Who has the best shot of going deep in the playoffs? Does high school basketball need a shot clock? Sound off on whatever you like in our interactive forum.

Why does every team make the tournament?? Why not just let the winning teams in like in football?

I think you are totally forgetting about The Dominican Girls Basketball team . They are playing very well and have two of the best guards in the state in Dilonna Johnson and Deysha Smith Jenkins

MavenMacker ... a good question that I don't know the answer to, but my guess is that the football field is limited because of scheduling logistics. Basketball (and other sports) can be played on back-to-back nights, like it is done during the regional, sectional and state tournaments. That allows the field to be whittled down rather quickly.

Derrick Johnson, you're right. The Dominican girls are off to a great start, but as of now, we do not have the resources to dedicated staff coverage to Dominican on a weekly basis (like we do for the 21 ranked teams) so it is ineligible for the rankings.

I think your girls scoring leaders for the girls are missing alot of players from Cudahy South milwaukee and St Francis One at 18.7 But you haven't had anything in your paper yet this year why start NOW

WheresthePack and Vince G. -- The NOW Newspapers sports staff has not covered St. Francis, Cudahy and South Milwaukee since last May when, because of major layoffs, the company had to make difficult decisions regarding its coverage. For now, we don't have enough staff writers to cover those schools. If we did, I'm sure Cudahy (the girls, at least) would be high in the ranks. On Tuesday, I ran into coach Gordon Nikolic, whose team I covered for six or seven years, and he was very excited about this year's squad, despite losing his starting point guard to a knee injury the first day of practice. He was looking forward to an upcoming big game with Pewaukee, one that might help decide the Woodland Blue Division.

Dave, NOW Newspapers does not regularly cover St. Francis at this time, therefore, the Mariners are not included in the rankings. Thanks for the question.
