My taxes went up aprroximately $800. I contacted the City and asked why my land was assessed at 100 k and a neighbor a block away had 3 times the lot size and was assessed at 89k? The answer was that I was assessed under a different "model". Also, do the Greendale taxpayers help pay for the high school swimming pool that their students use??

Mine jumped, but when our city only revaluation is every 6 years, it is going to jump. For 6 years I paid less. Lets starting pointing the finger where it should go, to our city officials, they need to do this every 2-3 years, not every 6 when they are going to be fined by the state. Do your job and make sure we don't end up with a 500 increase let it be small over time.

My husband and I moved to Greenfield from Dane Co. 1.5 yrs ago. Property taxes here are over $1000.00 more/yr. My sister is buying a home in Chicago that is priced over $100,000.00 more than our home in Greenfield and our taxes are $1000.00 more/yr. than hers. We have poor streets, very few sidewalks and some of the highest taxes in the State. How is the money being managed?

My Wife and I received our new tax bill roughly 7-8 months after we bought our house. When we bought our house we had an appraisal done for our mortgage that came out to roughly 179K, yet when our tax was adjusted it went from 149K to 187K. Now I understand that they have not assessed the property in some time, but how is the city assessment going to be 8K MORE than the appraisal we had done on the house just the year before? I have lived in Greenfield all my life and I do not intend on moving, but that is mostly due to the fact that I just can’t afford to move now.
