A proposal the School District says would save about $375,000 per year would require teachers at Brookfield East and Central high schools to teach an additional class period each day.
The increased workload would be partly offset by not requiring teachers to supervise during study hall and lunch, as is current practice. Additional staff would be hired to supervise students during those times.
Teachers say the changes could ultimately hurt students and overwork the staff.
Do you support the changes? Or is the money saved not enough to offset the potential problems? Let us know what you think in our forum.

With all of the jobs lost, salaries cut and layoffs implemented over the last 18 months, it is quite obvious that this is an excellent idea. There are many people in Brookfield who would love to have their jobs back with an increased workload. Saving the tax payers this kind of money is clearly a timely and appropriate decision to endorse. It is too bad that our tax dollars are controlled by WEAC. There is no way that powerful, politician controlling entity will pay any attention to Wisconsin or Brookfield taxpayers. It is a shame.
