HONOR ROLL

These are the players who were voted to this season's team. Be sure to check out our updated interactive map of all-time leading scorers and our interactive guide to the team.

ALL SUBURBAN ROUNDUP

Find out who the best athletes in the area are by checking out the NOW All-Suburban teams:

Making the Team

How they are chosen

  • The NOW sports staff begins compiling each All-Suburban team by contacting all coaches in its coverage area and asking for nominations. Coaches provide comments on each player and season statistics.
  • That information is put on a ballot to which NOW reporters add their own first-hand impressions of players.
  • Each staff member then votes for the 10 players he feels should be on the team, ranking them from 10 to 1. The player with the most points is named the Player of the Year and the next 10 players are also named to the team.
  • Those players receiving votes who do not make the team earn high honorable mention and those who are nominated but don't receive votes earn honorable mention.

STORIES FROM THE NOW NEWSROOM

Nicolet's Bronson, Cohen a potent duo

Gaby Bronson and Alex Cohen were indispensable members of the Knight team that steamrolled to its first-ever state title this season. Both will continue their basketball careers next season at the college level, leaving behind a legacy of winning at Nicolet.

Agnello a Lancer mainstay

Valerierose Agnello has contributed plenty to the Lancers' success in each of her three varsity seasons. She stepped into a leadership role during this campaign and helped her team to a 17-7 mark.

Honors come in for Bauman

Nicole Bauman, called the best passer in the state by coach Gary Schmidt, led the Lions in nearly every statistical category this season. The junior raised her game in the playoffs, leading the team with 21.7 points a contest.

Do-it-all Colla nets second NOW berth

Muskego standout Alyssa Colla did a little bit of everything this season, moving from the point to shooting guard and forward while earning all-state honors.

Hill helps Sabers rally

All-suburban selection Mariah Hill helped the Sabers through a tumultuous season that included the resignation of their head coach. Hill averaged 11.2 points a game as the team earned a sectional title and nearly knocked off state-finalist Middleton.

Kraker, Myles sparked Bulldogs

Mehryn Kraker and Janie Myles have been mainstays for the West Allis Central girls basketball team the past three seasons, leading the squad to a 30-12 Greater Metro Conference mark and earning all-conference honors.

Kunz leaves record-setting legacy

Hailey Kunz led West's perimeter attack this season, setting school records for most 3-pointers made in a season and a career. She plans to major in sports broadcasting next fall at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Luke leads Knights to a big season

Oak Creek's Ashley Luke was one of the hardest-working players in the area and a massive matchup problem for opponents. The senior, who has a 4.0 GPA, averaged 14.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Director of Defense

Nicolet's Corey Wolf has been a standout in every level of basketball since beginning her playing career in the 1990s. She's now an elite coach and the NOW All-Suburban Coach of the Year for the second time.
